US President-elect Joe Biden, who has been racing to fill administration positions before he is inaugurated on January 20, suffered small hairline fractures on his foot after slipping while playing with his dog, his doctor said in a statement on Sunday.
“Initial x-rays did not show any obvious fracture, but follow-up CT scan confirmed hairline (small) fractures of President-elect Biden’s lateral and intermediate cuneiform bones, which are in the mid-foot. It is anticipated that he will likely require a walking boot for several weeks,” Dr Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s primary care doctor, said revealed.

Earlier in the day, Biden’s office announced he was going to be examined by an orthopedist “out of an abundance of caution” after he twisted his ankle playing with the dog Major, a German shepherd. Hours later, President Donald Trump tweeted, “Get well soon!” with the inevitable jokes and memes on social media from fans and critics on both sides.
Trump supporters mocked Biden with memes showing Kamala Harris wheeling him into the White House. Biden fans in turn joked that he “kicked Trump’s ass so hard” in the November 3 election that he broke his foot.
Biden, who celebrated his 78th birthday on November 20, is set to be the oldest president in US history. His campaign has been fairly transparent with his medical history, releasing a summary that showed him healthy and fit for the presidency.
The Biden family has two dogs, Major and Champ, both German Shepherds. They also plan to bring a new pet cat into the White House. The transition team released a statement with 41 barks that it translated into “I wish my adopted father a speedy recovery but I strongly maintain that I have done nothing wrong.”
The lighter moment came even as Trump continued to falsely insist there was fraud in election and he was cheated of victory, allegations that have been laughed out of courts.
“My mind will not change in six months. There was tremendous cheating here,” the defeated US President said in a rambling 45-minute “interview: with Fox News Channel’s Maria Bartiromo, whose credulity invited comparison’s to North Korea state tv anchors.
Trump also claimed that some foreign leaders have been calling and telling him that this was the most “messed-up” election they have ever seen, but he did not name any of the leaders. Most major world leaders have congratulated Biden for winning the election and have moved on from Trump.
